One of our listserv members reports: The patent application that I just e-filed in DOCX form gets loaded into the "non-patent literature" section of "display references". The impression that one gets is that the Examiner could cite our own patent application against us to prove that our patent application lacks novelty. See article. App Search Disparity b/t Patent Center and Private PAIR

I endeavored to make the same application search inquiry on Patent Center and Private PAIR.  The search is routinely performed to check for recent status updates, including Office Actions which have been counted but not yet mailed.  Unfortunately, though the search inquiry entered was the same, the results yielded on both platforms were not.  The Private PAIR search return was clearly more thorough in that the results... more »

Patent Center Beta Release

application details/Examiner name

We usually like to copy and paste the applicant info from Patent Center into our documents as to avoid typos. If you are signed in to PC you can't copy the examiner name. It does a pop up instead with their name (which is appreciated) but we should still be able to copy the text. However, we noticed if you are NOT signed in to PC the popup doesn't work but you can select the examiner name on public applications. Is there... more »
