Passing docket numbers through to deposit account statements

When a fee is paid through Financial Manager from EFS, our docket number appears on our Deposit Account statement, making it easy to reconcile charges. But when a fee is paid through Financial Manager from PatentCenter, the docket number does not pass through to the Deposit Account statement. That makes no sense as Financial Manager is being used in either case. In any event, this needs to be fixed.

"Attorney Docket #" missing from fee-payment process

Patent Center seems to not be associating the attorney docket number of a submission with a fee payment for that submission. When going from Patent Center to the fee payment page, the fee payment confirmation shows an "Attorney Docket #" column, but it's empty. This results in accounting problems for the practitioner, where the practitioner cannot readily tell from deposit account payment records what attorney docket... more »

Login Ineffective

We are finding more and more that there is a glitch that results in logins being ineffective, i.e., the login is not rejected, but Patent Center acts like it didn't happen. Specifically, the user is not shown the Workbench or any other non-public interfaces--even after they log in. It seems like it usually happens after a successful login and later logout--the non-public interfaces are shown for the initial log in, and... more »

"File another patent application"

The button that says "File another patent application" (and other prompts like that throughout Patent Center) should instead prompt the user to process another submission. Most of our submissions via EFS (and now Patent Center) are not applications but are rather documents related to existing applications. So the prompt to file another "patent application" is not correct. That was an error in EFS. It would be great... more »

Step Backward ... Embedded Fonts are Back ?!

Not sure why there has been a reversion to not allowing for embedded fonts in PDF documents. 🙄

Patent Center was working like a charm previously and allowed for the uploading of PDF documents that EFS-Web did not. The extra work required to make PDF documents image based when converting them from a word processing program is cumbersome and time consuming.

Please eliminate the embedded font issue... more »

Viewable ADS in a filing

We are submitting a new application and we uploaded the USPTO ADS form into Patent Center. Out of all the documents you load for a new application the ADS is one of the most important documents to view before submitting, but you are not able to view it. You must download all documents to be able to see the ADS as it was loaded. This is a bit cumbersome. We have our paralegals load the documents to Patent Center and then... more »

Link to Apn in PC after submitting a filing / file history

It would be very helpful if once you are done submitting something in Patent Center that instead of going back to the Home screen and searching for the same case, you can click the application number (or whatever) and it will take you to that specific case in Patent Center. It is our procedures that once a filing is submitted we download an "as filed" version for our official internal file wrapper and make sure there... more »

Workbench / Correspondence / PDF

When downloading correspondence from Private PAIR the combined PDF file contains bookmarks in the format

"customerno applicationnumber date typeofdocument."

The equivalent bookmarks in PatentCenter only include date and type of document. That is unfortunate. The PAIR format allows us to parse a larger PDF file and separate it out into different files following our firm's naming convention. Adding the application... more »
